Nancy Zieman ~ Sewing with Nancy

It is a sad day to hear about the passing of a very special lady.
Nancy Zieman you will be missed by so many.
I have spent many a Saturday watching PBS "Sewing with Nancy".
Saturdays will never be the same.
From quilting to sewing I enjoyed your show.

Our sympathy to your family, friends and loved ones!

Rest in Peace

  1. How very sad. I did not know of Nancy Zieman, but it seems she was a much loved lady.

  2. Was this a national program she hosted? I did not know of her either but she must have been wonderful. My mom loved Bob Ross. Being able to share your skills is such a talent in itself.

  3. Nancy Zieman, also known as "Sewing with Nancy" or "Nancy's Notions" has been around since the early 1980's. She taught sewing, quilting, machine embroidery and had many guest people who shared their talents. Every Saturday in the afternoon her show was on our local PBS station.

  4. I've watched her show some over the years and indeed, she was a very talented lady who so willing shared her knowledge with us. I had not heard of her death.

    1. Sadly she passed away today, from a long battle with Cancer. It was announced on a Fons' and Porter Quilting on (Facebook) this morning. And then I checked with her own site and it said in Loving Memory.

  5. I almost can't remember a time before Nancy Zieman. I remember when she first entered the sewing scene and learned many new techniques from her shows. There is no one who could or will fill her shoes.

    1. I agree with you. She had a special talent. I read her story and she continued to tape her show and care about its future while she was ill. To have such devotion made her that much more special.
