A different kind of quilt...

I have made lots of quilts with piecing pieces of fabric together and making a design.  Sometimes I like taking a different direction.  I just finished hand stitching this 36 X 36 inch quilt top.  This quilt top was stitched with thoughts of my husband who likes nature and cabin themed designs.

I hope to finish this off with a backing and batting, and quilting it.  And I hope to be able to hang it up for display.

Next is a picture that shows how I display some of my quilts.  Hanging on the Quilt Shelf as well as being folded and displayed on top of the bookcases.

When we finally get into our more permanent home...I hope to have my quilts displayed all over the house; even on the beds.

  5. I always get excited when I can finally make something for my husband as he doesn't get to worked up over my sewing. I really like how you framed the outdoor pieces. It really sets them off. It's fun to display our handwork and enjoy seeing your lovely quilts. If I had to choose only one type of crafting, I guess it would be quilts. I love the feel of fabric and what can be done with it. I can't wait to visit your new blog. I'm working on an embroidery quilt now!

  6. Wonderful wonderful - I love the theme. What a treasure. I love embroidery too - mostly I make tea towels but love all sorts of it. I'm slowly working on a crazy quilt with lots of fancy stitches.

  10. I love the log cabin quilt! My Mom loved to make cross stitched top quilts and we received her first one for our wedding gift. I have one of her tops that she never quite finished that I need to finish and quilt. I love to embroider too, but I think quilting might be my favorite. I like your idea of folded quilts on top of a book case. I might try that idea!
